Regulatory Licenses
Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy
Solutions Pest Control is certified by the BC Ministry of Environment to Apply Pesticides.
- Regulator in BC:
- The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy administers the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Act and Regulation, the primary regulatory tools governing the sale and use of pesticides in BC.
This certification allows us to purchase pesticides, which is a regulated and restricted product.
We are also licensed to apply this product, if and when appropriate, in and around your home or business.
Solutions Pest Control maintain this license annually by reporting and re-certification through completing proficiency testing.
All of our Pest Control Technicians hold a Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate. Most of them hold additional certificates:
- Commercial Pesticide Dispenser,
- Landscape & Garden Pesticide Applicator,
- Professional Bird Barrier Installer,
- AIB Food Sanitation/Hygiene,
- HACCP.
We actively practice Integrated Pest Management techniques, as recommended by the BC Ministry of Environment. This practice promotes using pesticides only when required and in conjunction with other non-chemical controls.

Better Business Bureau
Solutions Pest Control is listed with the Better Business Bureau as an Accredited Business since 2010. We are pleased to work with BBB, who provides a critical consumer advocate role and works to build trust between consumers and business operations in BC.
The “Better Business Bureau” (BBB) of Mainland British Columbia, founded in 1939, is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing marketplace trust. BBB provides dispute resolution services for a consumer to business disputes and business rating and reporting.
To maintain our BBB accreditation status we submit an annual filing, adhere to the BBB Standards For Trust and maintain good relations with our customers. The BBB Accreditation Standards.

NPMA – National Pest Management Association
The National Pest Management Association (NPMA), a non-profit organization with more than 5,500 members from around the world, was established in 1933 to support the pest management industry’s commitment to the protection of public health, food and property. This commitment is reflected both in the continuing education of pest management professionals and the dissemination of timely information to homeowners and businesses.
Solutions Pest Control is a member of NPMA.
CPMA – Canadian Pest Management Association
CMPA is a subsidiary of the NMPA and operates within Canada.
All members of provincial and regional associations, including the Structural Pest Management Association of BC, are automatically members of the Canadian Pest Management Association (CPMA) and the National Pest Management Association (NPMA).
Structural Pest Management Association of BC
SPMA is the pest management industry’s leading credentialing program for BC.
SPMA’s objective is to continuously improve and maintain the standards of pest control service in our province through ongoing searches for information on pest identification, control techniques and environmental concerns.
SPMA delivers training seminars, communications with government officials, the public and members to keep all informed and deliver pest control services in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Solutions Pest Control is an active member of SPMA and previously served on the executive.
AIB International
AIB International, formerly American Institute of Bakers, is an international organization dealing with pest control issues around food processing. The food processing and baking industries need to control pests in and around their plants and material supply operations. AIB is a strong supporter of the pest control industry, providing ongoing education and professional development, and well as documenting procedures, methods and best practices.
Solutions Pest Control is a member of AIB International.
HACCP – Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) is the internationally recognized framework for reducing the risk of safety hazards in food preparation and production, including pest control issues. The hazards HACCP covers include biological, chemical or physical hazards, which can be caused by pests which infest establishments and become a potential source of microbiological and physical hazards.
